We have just stayed with Anne and Paul at Plambell. Words can't really describe the experience. We had barely arrived and were invited to share dinner with them. A great opportunity to find out all about their farm. The site was level and tidy and had a magnificent view and huge expanse of sky.
It was calving time and while we were there 2 cows needed assistance with the birth. We even managed to witness a birth. For city people like us, this was a very moving experience.
The next day we drove down to Starvation Bay, which is about 20 minutes away, and saw the remains of the rabbit proof fence where it meets the Southern Ocean.
To finish it off there were home made cakes and coffee before we left. The Road is unsealed, but currently in excellent condition. We only have a lightweight Bailey caravan, but had no trouble at all travelling about 60kph. Check with Anne about the current road conditions as there is also another route you can take.
